hey people.. yeah i just got new breaks for my 98 s70 but every time i come to a rolling stop, it makes a really annoying squeeking noise.. its really annoying and they are brand new breaks.. just wondering if this is normal.....

Sorry about the problem.

I would like to know if you've used OEM pads & rotors. If non-OEM brake components are used, they almost guarantee squeak.

If you cannot switch to OEM at the moment (unless they are OEM), I would use silicone brake grease or CV-joint grease (or any molybdenum-based grease) on pad-to-bracket and every metal-to-metal contact areas, EXCEPT the friction surfaces.

If, on the other hand, if you can afford OEM parts, I would switch to them.

Maybe you just need shims between your brake pads and calipers. My mechanic told me that the new OEM shims are the way to go. They have an L shape that apparently reduce squeaking.

 

yeah thanks for the advice guys.. yeah i dont now but they squeek real loud i geuss there probably cheap brake pads.. i have to take the car back to the mechanic...it sucs
