Hey,

Im new, just bought my first volvo YESTERDAY, s70 GLT, with 118K. for $3400

1) car can't rev past 4k
2) after warming up it will do that stall out like most volvos(i have read). and its getting bad gas milage. Then it will boggle and idle crap and die

Im taking it to the dealer on monday for codes and I ALREADY have spent 4 hours taking out the throttle body and cleaning it throughly. I also sprayed clean the MAF and it still is crappin

This is common?

 

the rev limiter is supposed to be at 4k in park and in neutral any number of things could cause those other problems.

ok, well, did you check your muffler bearings? maybe your blinker fluid is low.

I already checked my blinker fluid, what a pain! but it looks good.

But I did not know about the rev limiter at 4k in P or N. Not sure what year his car was, but does this apply to my 1999 V70 GLT?
