Default s70 turbo upgrade......

Hey all, So I have a 98 s70 glt, what I want to know is will a 98-2000 t-5 turbo be a direct replacement to mine? I have an mbc to controll the boost, I just need to know if it will fit?

It seems you have a 13g with a straight flange. Now looking at the chart it seems that the 1998 T5's have a 16t straight flange. Also if you can find it the,
1996 850 R 2.3L MT Euro spec 16T Straight
So if this is correct then it is a direct bolt on.

If by some chance the chart is wrong and you have a 13g with an angled flange then you will need to look for a turbo from a...

I have located a 98 t5 for parting. Do you think the ecu would help at all? or is that going to cause problems?

personally I wouldn't use that ECU. Just get an ECU upgrade you will be much more pleased.

I know people have tried like 850T5R and 850R ECU's in a GLT 850.

most likly will, but thinking about it. The t-5 ecu would be programmed for a larger turbo. I know in a thread awhile back we had discussed the possibly of doing that instead of an ecu upgrade. But the key thing was that that ecu would be programeed for a larger turbo. So if its a t-5 turbo in my glt should teh t-5 ecu run good? That and both cars are teh same year, so their should be minimal differnce. Either way I would like to get and ecu chip in the end, but I can get the ecu for pretty much nothing if I buy the turbo.

Wont be worth it, trust me.

Just save your money for an ECU upgrade.

QuickBrickMotorsports (QBM)
1. http://www.quickbrickmotorsports.com/

PRODUCTS
2. http://www.quickbrickmotorsports.com/products.html

DOWNPIPE FLANGES
3. http://www.quickbrickmotorsports.com/prod_dpflange.html

APPLICATION CHART
4. http://www.quickbrickmotorsports.com...lange_list.htm

To easily get there click on number four. I just laid it out like that so if for some reason it didn't work you can get to it other ways. Each number is a step. and the words above each link is what you need to look for.

How much differnce would their be between a 15g and a 16t? Both are avail, the 15g is alittle esier to get. How much mroe psi could I run on either of those?

Basically the same turbo. Personally I would go for the 16T though.

Turbo Flow Rates
15g 428cfm
16t 435cfm

I have a 98GLT and swapped up to a 2.3 and 16t when I blew the motor this past winter. I was thinking about doing an ECU upgrade for the new year. Do I need to get an ECU from a 98 t5 or can I use the one that I have, for the upgrade?
