S70 WONT START-WINTER/COLD
Hey,
Im over in chicago, and we just got hit by a big storm over the night. Leaving my car covered in snow, and ice. That i can even open my trunk because of the ice. However, now my s70 wont start. I hear the engine run shortly for like 2 seconds, then it just hits off. the rpm jerks, but then it stops. Any Idea what may be the problem?

RE: S70 WONT START-WINTER/COLD
Hey LOUIS, I have been having the same issue for months on my 2000 S70, non turbo. I have had to try so many silly rituals to get the car started - everything from pulling the key out and using the spare to giving it gas when I get that 2 seconds of engine life - eventually it starts, but the problem is now getting worse (more often than not it is happening). I dont think it's the cold as this happens to me in the summer months. Hopefully someone else can give us a better answer. I'm going to try to search this forum for more of the same (I'm brand new to this forum).

AHH! Same problem! If its below 40 in the morning when I go to work, I have to do 15 min worth of wiggling and sitting to get it to finally take off.
Theres a weird ticking noise for a few seconds coming from under the dash. Sounds like it might be some relay or something. Is this possible?
Keep me posted!

I was having the same problem and I changed the fuel pump relay, it is located under the fuse panel just under the hood. I would have to try several times to start them would get a cliching noise by the drivers side. I pulled it out took it in the warmth of the house let it get warm then put it in the cold and it would work.
