Default strut mounts

i currently own a 2000 glt-se. hearing a thump on driver's side front-end going over bumps. my local guy said that it is the strut mount, and that i should do both sides at the same time. $500 including parts for both sides. fair? & do i really need to do both sides at the same time? thanks.

You don't have to but unless it was replaced already the other one will usually break soon.

If their is alot of miles on the car you may want to do the shocks at the same time(I think they have to take them out anyways)
