Default Timing belt - tensioner problem

Replaced my timing belt, idler and mechanical tensioner. I went to readjust the tensioner, pointer was not quite centered in the window. As I was adjusting, heard a snap, and the back part of the tensioner that engages the raised part on the block had bent. Bad part or did I make a mistake? I did notice that the new tensioner did not seem as sturdy as the old one. The new one is on the right in the pic.

Who did you buy the kit from?
For a while there was a bad batch of tensioners that got out.

I bought it from fcpgroton. It came in a blue Volvo box, INA, made in Germany. I straightened the tab with pliers and reinstalled, and it looks ok, but I don't trust it, the metal looks weakened where it bent. They are sending me out a replacement under warrantee, should get it today.

I have noticed lately that the updated ones have a Blue cover over the bearings on the pulley now instead of an Orange looking one.

Both of the ones I got from fcpgroton have the orange cover. I finally got it to take a tension setting, I will write about it soon in a different posting.
