trip computer
So I have a 98 s70 and a switch from a donor vehicle.
I went to the dealer to have them plug in and turn on the computer. He printed the sheet with the pin numbers on it and brought it out to the car. He got to the correct screen on the handheld tool and proceeded to punch in the pin number. An error came up and said invalid pin, so he tried the other pin on the page, same problem.
My question is, exactly which pin code is required to enter the system and turn on the computer.
I know 98s do NOT need the software download.
Thanks!

Hey guys. I know this is an old thread but I am having the same issue. I have a 98 and all the pins from the Volvo warranty screen come up invalid on the scan tool. Did either of you ever find the solution? Mine too is a 98 so no software. I recently made a post and am having a hard time finding an issue.
I went to the local pick n pull and pulled the cluster from a car that had the trip computer. Worked like a champ.
There is a thread around with the detailed instructions for the dealers. If I find it, I'll post it for you.
I have recently learned that dealers really don't like working on older cars, 10+ years. They focus on newer cars.
