Question Trip computer question

Would an ECU from a 98 s70 that had a trip computer be able to be applied to a 98 s70 with out one?

Ex: I find a ECU in a junk yard and it has trip computer features, could i just 'plug' it into my s70.

What do you say tech?

I would think the ECU would work but it still may not trigger your trip computer. If you try it, get the trip computer switch as well. Then let us know if it works.

I think if you buy the entire speedo cluster and wiring with the switch it will work. But I think the OEM has the function but it needs a switch and to be activated.
