Have a 98 S70..the trunk worked fine until I let a friend stuff his stupid bike in the trunk!! Now it won't stay up at all and I have to carry a broom handle to prop in there when I'm getting the groceries out! Not to mention the embarassment of pulling out a broom handle in the first place!

Any ideas what is wrong? I can't find any info for this..

I don't know that much about the trunk, but I would look at the two supports and see if anything looks damaged or out of place.

A question for someone who knows more than I do (tech, S70Driver, etc), does the trunk have any pneumatic parts to it?

 

I would pull the back seat down and also open the trunk. Have someone hold the trunk open and inspect that way.

 

The trunk shocks might have gone bad. They can go bad at any time.
