Default To turbo or not to turbo?

So I just found a parts car the same as mine. 2000 S70, only it's the "R" so it has a lovely turbo. What I'm wondering, is can I take that turbo and put it on my n/a model, without doing much else besides putting the intercooler on?
Thanks.

Different displacement. Very different configuration. Probably best to yank the transmission and respiratory/circulatory/HVAC/ABS systems from the donor as well.

If it were me, I would look more at using the body parts from my current vehicle to repair/restore the "donor" vehicle. Seriously, probably a LOT easier.

Why does everyone think it is as easy as slapping a turbo on your car and an intercooler and driving off into the sunset scott free?

Here is just a short list of things you'll need.

1. Turbo
2. Intercooler
3. Intercooler hard pipes
4. Turbo Silicone hoses
5. Silicone vacuum lines
6. Downpipe
7. Might as well upgrade your catback system while your at it
8. Major ECU tuning, the key to it all. Not just a chip upgrade either, dyno tuning is what you'll need to do.
9. Oil lines
10. Etc...

If you got to have the turbo, rip the engine and all the goodies that go with it out of the donor and put it into your car. Or even better sell the N/A and buy an already turboed Volvo.

Rip the "R" off the parts car and stick it on yours. Slicker than snot on a door ****.

Haha, that's awesome. Thanks for the feedback. The donor car has everything I'll need, but I don't think I'll be doing it with the experience I have. Thanks for the input, may very well have saved me a headache.

Actually it is a lot more complicated yet a lot easier then stated. Turbo'd engines have lower compression. Were you to simply bolt a turbo and intercooler on you would blow your n/a/ engine in short time. The head wil be different ( larger valves ) the deck height will be different. What you need to do is get the WHOLE engine, induction, fuel injectors, engine wiring harness, exhaust and computers. If this is over your head I would appreciate any info on the car you would part with. I am looking to convert my n/a. I would also assume as with the cars I deal with, that the t% cars also probably have larger brakes for the additional power, particularly the R's
