Default Very stubborn problem

For the last few months, my car has been giving me the Large EVAP leak code. I have changed the gas cap three times and I just finished replacing the vacuum line elbow joints. It is STILL giving me this code...what do I look for now??????? A friend looked at the lines leading to the solenoid valve part thing (I can't remember the name) that is right next to the fuel filter and said they looked fine.

my shop wanted about $700 to fix this for me. so i had to hound them to get what it is was wrong. i replaced the purge valve and the shutoff valve. they look about the same, just the shutoff valve is bigger and goes under the car right next to the fuel filter. the purge valve is right in the front by the one headlight. you could have leaky lines as i understand it as well. the 2 valves from volvo were about $178 i think.

P0455-large EVAP leak

Ok, what's the easiest way to check the purge and shutoff valves? And what's the big box near the fuel filter? It's not the gas tank.

that's the evap canister. I'd check all the lines there, check conections to the fuel tank pressure sensor. I have a 98 glt and it requires constant maintenence to vacuum lines. I had an abs problem so I took out my abs module to fix it, and in doing so I found a colapsded vacuum line that was causing a check engine light. it caused my air pump to scream.

The shut off valve might be bad. I have seen alot lately that are bad. That is the big valve.
