Default Volvo 1998 S70

I have a 1998 S70 volvo T5, i have in the last couple of days had a code 332 come up which the dealer tells me it is the lock up solinoid. I just finish talking to another person and he tells me that this year of volvo had transmition problems and changing just the solinode would not fix the problem. Can anyone tell me if they have experieced the same problem and how this problem was fixed.

Thanks

Default RE: Volvo 1998 S70

Greetings.

Before I start, please note that I'm an 850 driver and am not knowledgeable on S70, so my advice will be just guesses.

If you haven't had drivability problems, you could probably ignore the code. Also, even if you need another transmission, it may not hurt to see how much the solenoid is, try calling ↓, as I did not find a stock when I checked:

Also, refer to the following article, and see if the transmission on S70 is the same unit that is used on 850 (Aisin-Warner AW50-42?).

It should be indicated inyour owner's manual or there should be a label somewhere on the transmission case.

Wait till other S70 drivers jump in, as they have knowledge and can help you a lot better than I could.

Good luck,

JPN
