Default What oil line is this?

Hey everyone. I just bought a 98’ Volvo s70 t5 earlier this month and the guy I bought it from said it was the “oil cooler lines” but I don’t think it is. But I don’t know what line it is. There are a couple lines that run along the right side of the subframe (if you are sitting in it it’s the right). They are long black rubbery hoses. They are burst open somehow and I’m pretty sure that’s where the leak is coming from. But I don’t know what those lines are called. These are the lines.

No, that's just an evaporative emissions line.

One of those evaporative emission lines goes to the purge valve mounted near the left upper? (it's been a while) corner of the radiator fan shroud to vent gas fumes back into the intake. The oil on them is coming from someplace above -

Regardless of what is depicted in the photo, a 1998 T5 certainly does create a mess from the oil cooler lines. They are nasty. They are on the right side. If I was a betting man, I would certainly be willing to wager $5 that is in fact where all that mess came from. They are not visible in your pictures, but as we all know, oil leaks are sneaky.

You can replaced them. And in fact everybody should replace them. The 850's were the same way. After a certain age the oil just kinda oozes out of them all over.
