What S70 module can kill a new battery & starter?
My 1998 S70 is on its second new starter in 2 weeks. Plus a new battery. Another S70 owner just wrote that they went through 2 starters and a few batteries in 2 weeks before a module in the dashboard was found to be shorted out, drawing current from the battery and killing it.
Does anyone know what module this could be? What S70 modules should especially be checked? I'm a single Mom and would be grateful for any ideas, car has been okay for the past 3 days but the kids and I have been stranded many times in the past 2 weeks. Thanks!
Exact same thing happened to my S70. After two alternators (and 2 alternator refunds, thankfully) and a few battery replacements, It turns out that there was some module in the dash board that had shorted out and would draw current from the battery to kill it in about 2 days. I really wish I remembered what it was... but it took 2 weeks for a Volvo-only mechanic to figure it out.
