What's worth buying and using from parted/salvaged car?

Default What's worth buying and using from parted/salvaged car?

Hello to each and all,

Volvo Newbie here.

I have a 1998 S70 T-5 and really enjoy driving it, but unsure about the upkeep.

There are S70’s, GLT and non-turbo, including V70’s AWD being parted out
And I was wondering if the parts are comparable and worth purchasing vs. new parts.

At this time I need the follow parts for various reasons, such as CE light.

Blower Motor (I suspect because my car makes gurgling and swirling noises and also when it’s positioned on the off position with the fresh air on, even though the ambient temperature (outside) is higher that the cabin (I have it in the blue for cool), hot or warm air comes through the vent instead of cool ambient air. I’m not sure if it’s the fix or not but IPD has it for $219.44 new and I can get on from a parted car for $45.
Auxillary cooling fan & switch-new $310.09
O2 sensor –new Bosch for $114.43 front and $159.91 rear.
MAF sensor – new $171.09 parted car for $70.
Fog light switches for $5, parted car
Driver side visor-$30 for pair, parted car
Middle console, one cup holder tab is missing. EBay?
CVJ or Boots? My boots just tore last week, but the infamous noises are present already. Can I get away with new boots only? Please suggest alternatives.

I know that Imay have to purchase some of these items new, but was hoping to save a few bucks if it's worth it in the long haul buying it used vs. new.

Thanks in advance to each and all for sharing your knowledge.

Blower motor and stuff like that is pretty good used. But the O2 sensors I would go new. Maf is ok used if it is good.

Put it like this:

Parts that you will be replacing regularly such as spark plug wires, o2 sensors, wheel bearings, breaks, rotors.... etc No point buying used. It wont save you enough and will need replacing soon enough.
