Default Wiring diagram for turn signals

This is a question that was posted in another thread but there seems to be a slight change in the wiring from my 95 850 to the 98 S70. Any help with a wiring diagram for the turn signals much appreciated.
I've exchanged a few emails with Steven but S70 doesn't seem to respond to any of my suggestions.

I know this is an old post - but I recently acquired a 1998 Volvo s70 from my parents (they are now too old to drive) and put in LED turn signals and wanted to use your method to wire up a flasher so that there is no hyperflash. However, I am running into some trouble and was hoping I could get some more insight from you.

Here is what I have done:
  1. Connected wire between ACC power source and X prong of electronic 552 flasher.
  2. At steering wheel column, cut the green w/ red tracer wire from the turn signal stalk connector.
  3. Connected wire between L prong of electronic 552 flasher to the green w/ red tracer wire that feeds into the turn signal stalk connector. The lower half of the green w/ red tracer wire remains cut/disconnected.
My 4 way hazards still work, but my turn signals are not working. When I move the turn signal stalk to signal either left or right turn, the green arrow on the dash lights up and I hear 1 click and that is it. The LED lights do not flash at all and the 1 click sound is still coming from the hazards button/flasher and NOT from the new electronic 552 flasher.

Is there something I am missing or something I did incorrectly? I tried to follow your instructions as best as I could. Do I need to do anything with the solid green (drivers side turn signal) or blue with green tracer (passenger side turn signal) wires?

Thanks much!
Steven

I have been successful in other cars by wiring a resistor in line between the stock flasher and the bulb socket. The resistor adds enough load to stop the hyperflash.

yep the problem is that flashers work on a capacitance circuit which has a charge curve based on resistance. Drop in a standard filament bulb and you get resistance. Drop in an LED and you get a much smaller impedence value thus more current which charges the capacitor faster. This is the same reason why the flasher speeds up when one of the corner bulbs is out. I'm now curious how a marker bulb would measure out resistance wise at 12V as a way of guesstimating the appropriate resistor value. I bet I can google that :-)
