1. I take it your timing belt broke, who did the valve/head job, and timing belt?

2. Did this problem ever occur before timing belt issues?

3. You said no CEL last nite, how about any CEL's recently? (that could be applicable to prob.)

4. Do you get any backfires or popping noises?

5. Do you have any problems with tachometer when it is running?

The cam pos sensor can make the car not want to start, via ignition problem. Plus I am sure that might throw the ECM a CEL. The MAF sensor is used for Fuel injectors, ignition timing, and for when idling too. More likely to stall out engine. If you can give a little more specifics we can probably help pinpoint problem.

ok mpoint, I guess I didn't totally understand situation, sorry bout that.
My opinion is if it did not do this before installation, it is likely something in the area of maintenece. Recheck your Cam position sensor for good connection. I know in GM products, that particular sensor can be accessed with timing cover off. That would be my first thing I looked at, if it were my vehicle.

The cam pos sens will not let a GM start with a constant open/closed signal past 2-3 crank rotations. example: on a 4 cylinder engine, the ECM will look for a signal for either 1&4, 2&3 cylinder locations, to fire the ignition, to start engine. If not a good referencesignal, goodluck starting engine, no sparks will fly. If you turn ignition off and back on, it starts the count over again. It can store a code, it is usually one of the first sensors ECM looks for. Sorry for the short story.lol

wow, that sounds nice. Dude thats definately some sort of valvetrain problem. Whether it be timing off, valves not seating good, I hear popping, like maybe intake valves not seating. Your CEL could be a Cam or crank pos sensor, and possible knock sensor too. if it isn't timed right, those wont ever work right. So its something mechanical, I think. Any way did you try unplugging the cam sensor and try reseating connector anyway?? I just watched it again, dude shut that thing off, and retime that engine, before you blow something. Your asking for it reving it up like that, careful man.

Thats my suggestion, Tech is a very knowledgable source, so listen to him too.

Recheck the pickup on the end of the cam to. Make sure it is positioned correctly as well.
Also the plug wires are all correct?
