Won't stay running all the sudden
This morning I drove to the gym (about 14 miles round trip) came home, and my 98 S70GLT was fine.
An hour later, I cranked it up and it shut off on me. Never done this before, so I cranked it again. This time it ran at about 200 rpm and blew a little puff of black smoke out (never done that before either). So I turned it off.
I again tried to crank it and keep it running, this time seemed to work so I left. Made it about 200 feet and it turned off again. Cranked it up again and another black puff came out. Rolled it back in front of my house.
Checked the spark plugs, good and dry, although carbonized so I lightly sanded them. put them back and tried again. Better crank but still turned off.
Exhaust smells rich in fuel content, so much more that i noticed.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what my culprit may be??????
I need to get it fixed asap!!!!!!!!!!!
My ideas from prior reading in this forum would be the mass airflow sensor, the fuel pump, or .........????
Please Help!

RE: Won't stay running all the sudden
Just an fyi on the coolant temp sensor. I was getting intermittent 'check engine" light notices which was due to the coolant sensor. after a couple of times I was thinking about replacing it myself. Not being an experienced motor guy I was planning out my approach. When I disconnected the plug connection for the sensor, it appeared to me that there was oxidation of some type on the plug prongs. I clean with battery terminal cleaner followed by WD 40 and have had no problem since. Even with the sensor alarm I did not have any engine problem
