My 1999 s80 2.9 rear head restraint passenger side will not latch back in the upright position.Itfolds up but will not stay. Any one know what the deal is? Part number and replacement hints?

 

I have the same problem with the left one. In one of ten times it will latch back. If i'm lucky.

 

Mine will not latch at all. I never really fold those back on purpose. Accidentally hit the button while cleanning dash. I'm wondering if there is a clip or something that can be replaced or lubricated?

 

Have you tried hitting the button a few more times? Maybe the solenoid is stuck open.

 

Ya tried that several times. Its been cold here so I turned a heater on in the garage to see if the cold had it stuck but no go. If you think its the solenoid can that be replaced? If so can you describe the location?

 

It is a major pain to get into it. You need to remove the seat from the car and open it up to get into the area. But on the plus side I think the back part unzips to open up.
