Default 1999 s80 t6 idle problem/ throttle body

Ok... Where do i start???? I own a 1999 volvo s80 t6 with 119k on it. Im having problems with the throttle body (or atleast thats what everybody i talk to is saying it is). Sometimes it will start and run like a champ, then sometimes it will start and idle like it s gonna die. It wont even go over 1500rpms in park... then finally i went to eccelerate on the highway and i heard a popping sound like a back fire. Now it seems like the turbo wont even work.. Im starting to get really aggravated with this car and dont know what to do, or where to begin. Can anyone help me please?

This doesn't sound like an ETM issue, but check this vid out it shows the symptoms and and straightforward way to clean and ETM.

Most common causes of what you describe are: coils, plugs and vacuum leaks inlcuding the turbo wastegate actuator pipes.

Is the check engine light on? If so get the codes pulled, write them down and post back. Your ETM is probably fine, but its always a good idea to take some time out to clean it.

I would recomend you do not spray cleaner directly into the throtle body.

I have had bad experience with other cars. The cleaner went into the throttle position sensors and ruined them.

Instead I spray the cleaner on a rag and wipe the parts. Use a small wire brush if needed. Use a piece of scotch brite if you want with cleaner on it as well.
