1999 Volvo S8 T6
Hi. I am considering purchasing a 1999 Volvo S80 T6 with 108,000 kms on it for $6,500. Do you need to put premium fule in this car? As well, I am hoping anyone who has owned one of these cars or anyone who knows about these cars can provide some info and help me make an educated decision. Thanks, Andrew

Premium is recommended but it will run on regular. Take a look through this thread: https://volvoforums.com/m_120107/tm.htm
In addition to what's in there, check the turbo oil return lines for leaks. It's common for the seals to go out and need replacement.

most S80's that old have at least 2X the number of kilometers on it. the main component of total cost of ownership besides acquisition cost in this model is repairs; both parts and labor. depending on how well that car was maintained will increase the risk that you will incur these costs sooner or later.

Seems like you've never owned a VOLVO before. I suggest you have a mechanic Volvo certified check the car out before you purchase the car. If anything try to see if you can pull any codes from the car. But I can tell you this the S80 T6 is a very smooth car. Very Comfortable; and for that price seems good but I would try to get down to at least 5,500 if can bargain.
