Default 2000 s80 t-6 ECM swap

is it possible to swap out the ECM for another used one? what numbers should I look for? and will the software have to be re-downloaded or just aligned to my specific vin number? And Finally are ECM's reparable?

I do believe the 1999+ Volvo's have an ECU that is married to the car. Meaning no swapping. Dealer only can do this...

Well I've got a dealer that'll do this I'm just trying to verify, since they mostly deal with new cars, they can program my comp or flash or set up the vin for me, I'm just wondering If I could get another ECM from ebay and have them reprogram it

From what I was told once it is programmed it cannot go into another car or be reprogrammed again.

Sorry to say but yes.
Last I heard there was no one that can wipe the ECU's out and start all over with them.

What happened to yours?

There is a company that provides 400 something dollar rebuilds on ECMs that will still work when put back in your car. i had one done last month, needed a total rebuild.

i'll send you the link later when i can find it, i'm on the wrong computer
