2002 S80 Brakes
A couple of questions.
1. '02 S80 has 53K miles and auto-shop is saying Brake Pads & Rotors need to be replaced?
2. Estimated cost is $400 to replace. If they need to be replace does this sound likea fair price.
Not being a car guy, just wondering if these seem appropriate.
Thank you.

just the front, or both front and rear?
sounds ok if the replacement is for both front and rear.
If it's just for the front, it still sounds ok since volvo parts are expensive.
I'm not sure about rotors but don't plan on using cheap aftermarket brakes pads for your vehicles, not just volvo.
YOu can go to private shop and save some money.

Thank you for the reply,
The estimateis only for thefront rotors and pads.
The $400 didn't sound too bad, it just suprised me it needed brakes at 53K miles, butI do understandall brakes wear differently.
Thanks again.

I got a 2000 model with 47K on it. I'm going to do the front this summer. Since reading this post, I'm wondering why the front Rotor needs replacement with only 53K? Is this common?
I can see the brakes, but rotors? At most would be re-facing right?
I would suggest you take it somewhere else for second opinion, like at Midas or something.
