I just bought this car not knowing anything about Volvo's. I love it but I am looking to get more out of the car, I am wondering if there is anyone who can give me any tips and advice towards this. I have herd lost of rumors of thing that can be done to these car but I would like to here it from people who would know first hand.

If you're looking for mods, your going to be very disappointed. Volvo's have a very little in aftermarket and the S80 has some of the least (possibly the XC90 would have less).

I am looking to improve the power, handling , exhaust, and If possible the ALL WHEEL drive system. But at the same time I do not want to do anything that will be "BAD" for the car. I want to do it right as I am having a great time with it and do not want to be the shop ever second week. I hope that makes scene. Thank you all for the help

 

Power...not going to find anything for the V8 short of some custom work. Handling, you might find some tighter shocks and some better endlinks, exhaust, again custom for the V8.

In short, if you thought the Volvo S80 V8 AWD would be a mod car, you were mistaken short of custom work, which you'd be really entering uncharted territory.

Many of the mods you see for Volvos are around the T6 platform engine with adjusting boost and adding bigger turbos and exhaust. The newer S80s really are not marketed for modding.

Concur with the above comments relative to aftermarket mods. There are some "reasonable" custom exhaust upgrades that may yield stated +/- 12 hp. Not a good ROI for me...same with the suspension.
