Default 3.2L water pump change

has anyone replaced a water pump on 2007 or so S80 ?? looks like a huge project, having to remove P/S pump etc. please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I've done a few. They aren't too bad. As you mentioned, the power steering pump needs to be removed.

thanks, I assume it slides off a shared shaft of the water pump pulley? is it necessary to remove hi/ lo pressure lines? to remove completly or just leave floating?? thanks again for the help. Roger

If you look closely, you'll see two T25 screws that holds the power steering pulley to the water pump drive.

I've always removed both lines to make it easier.

removed P/S pump w/ pulley and water pump today, went smooth. water pump was seized and shredded the coupling. Will order parts soon. Thanks for advice again.

any tips on replacing serpentine belt? a/c compressor has to be moved to get belt around tension pulley? thanks

Yeah the a/c compressor have to be removed along with the power steering pump pulley.

Thanks new water pump in and water pump drive. old belt back on . taking compressor an d bracketry out too big of a project.
