99 S80 Antenna Location
Guys,
I have HU-611 in my 1999 S80 T6 which doesn't play MP3. I am looking at buying an FM transmitter and use my iPod in the vehicle. Can anyone tell me where the antenna is located in the car? Does a good FM transmitter work well with the stereo? Any ideas, suggestions or cautions to make this work efficiently?
(Off topic: I am looking at Kensington liquid FM deluxe formy 3rd Gen. iPod).
Thanks.

Have you considered the ipod adapters that are available? I don't have one yet but am planning to get one. You use the port used for the remote CD deckis used toadapt the ipod cable. This allows the radio controls to navigate through the ipod, volume etc. and charges it as well. (Does anyone have one of these?)

The website below is one of these adapters. Looks like you use the port on the back of the radio that is used for the multi cd changer option (normally stored in the trunk). So you can use only one or the other. You use the radio controls to access the ipod just like another cd source and can navigate through the ipod.

Not exactly the same issue as you, but I just got an XM Roady that has fm transmitter that "attaches" itself to the antenna to "broadcast" in FM supposedly in pretty decent quality.
However I have the same question as you - Where is the antenna on a '99 Volvo S80 ? I looked in the back window but it wasn't there, flipped through the Volvo user manual but couldn't find an answer there either. If anyone knows it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I wanted to connect my creative Zen Vision M and my Samsung nexus home/car kit XM receiver to the HU-611.. I realised that the best bet, while scrappy is the casette adaptor.. you can get a good one for less than $15 and I find the audio quality to be higher than that of a FM transmitter..
