99 s80 (non turbo) can't start anymore
My s80 has 158K miles.
I had occasional engine stall on highway. So, I decided to replace fuel pump and fuel filter. Also replaced PCV box and cleaned the throttle body ...
Now I can't start my s80.
I can hear that fuel pump is running for couple seconds after I turn the key to position II, and engine cranks after that, but fuel pressure is very low (near 0 psi) even after several cranking attempts.
I checked the fuel pump relay and a fuse - they seems to be OK, there is no visible fuel leak also.
No trouble codes on OBDII scanner.
I have old battery, so tried to jump start with no success.
Can somebody help me to diagnose this problem? It drives me crazy :-(

OK, I have a little bit fuel left in the tank, just barely enough to cover the pump hose, so I will try to add more ...
I reinstalled the fuel pump according to VADIS, so I hope I did everything right ... unless it require some secret knowledge :-)

Tech, you are the man :-) I recharged the battery, added 1 gallon of fuel and after 2-3 cranks my engine started.
I spent last 2 weeks looking everywhere, cleaned all the electrical contacts, cleaned a bunch of other stuff ...
I swear it was some fuel in the tank, but apparently not enough for new fuel filter and the pump.
OK, now I see some smoke from the tail pipe, but I ran engine only for about 5 minutes.
I cleaned the PCV system, so I expect no / less smoke. Will test it more ...
The main problem now is that engine sounds like my grandmother's sewing machine (not very loud, but quite noticeable, I did not have this before).
I suspect this is because I decided to tighten head bolts at some time during no-start troubleshooting, which is now I think was not a good idea.
Do I need to replace the head gasket and tighten it correctly now?

Most likely you only tightened the cam cover bolts. You might want to torque them properly.
But on the other hand if it has not been run much take it for a drive it might only be a few lifters that need to pump back up after sitting for a few days.

OK, I ran the engine for a while and now it is much quieter.
It can be also due to new adaptation values from ECM because I disconnected battery and old values were lost.
Problem is solved.
Thank you a lot, tech.
