99 volvo s80 no crank
It has been awhile since I have touched my no starting, non cranking, missing power 1999 S80. Between the US Navy and family she has had to be sidelined for awhile. Now I am trying to put some life back into her. I have searched the site and the internet and unfortunately a lot of similar but they are different answers here is what I have. Driving home from work and car was driving fine went over a speed bump slowly(which is where I think it started) and speedometer and tach went to zero. A variety of lights all came on. AC started blowing hot air. My DIM message window doesn't work so I had messages I there. The odometer worked. But car was driving fine, So I drove home with no problems at all. I got home and shut car off and tried to restart. I tried to turn over and clunked a little and nothing. Sounded like something in the transmission was moving, but not anymore. The key antenna light stayed on at first but doesn't even come on now, driver and front passenger door jam lights stay on no matter if open or closed(back doors are off). Head lights and brake lights on with no control over them. All the door controls on all 4 doors don't work. The only thing that happens on the dash is a Check engine light and that's it no matter key position and A slight click coming from the ETM followed by a hum when turned to start position. The only things I have control over right now are the radio, heater blower and the upper center lights above the rear view mirror, but they sometimes don't work.
So hear is what I have checked. Currently the alarm siren is out. Battery was low but not drained. But I left it out, everything I have read so it should really only affect the sunroof operation. Should I reconnect? I just don't want to replace parts that aren't needed. Don't want to dump a lot into the car really. I was working on the drivers door window and had the door module out as well as the passenger door module. Could those be a problem. Can I read either out? Those are all back installed and plugged in.
Battery is good and new with good voltage
Voltage to positive post in the engine compartment good
Good voltage to battery post on starter
Good power coming across all fuses in eng fuse box, driver door fuse box and the one in the trunk
I swapped the engine management relay with the starter relay with no change at all
I hooked up a code reader and it doesn't read car, also tried a friends VIDAS/DICE which worked before but didn't this time. Is there something I can check for that?
I also checked for power off of the ignition switch as per the wiring diagram and have power off of all 5 wires as per key position dictates.
Seems there is no power to the DIM at all except the Check engine light.
Looked at the CEM and doesn't seem to have had water intrusion, doesn't smell burnt but I didn't totally pull it out of the housing just the metal bracket.
Don't have a key fob so couldn't try the reset that way, tried with key in the door and also tried the key in the ignition in position 2 connecting battery and holding odometer reset.
Is there anything else that I can trouble shoot down to before I have to try a DIM, ABS module, CEM or ECU, which neither I want change as I said before don't want to just throw parts at it. Thanks for the help in advance.
