99 volvo S80 transmission
I have heard that many people have had transmission problems with there 99 S80's. I have read on the forums that many people had their transmissions fail between 50K - 115K miles. I have even read that a car had its transmision fail at 3K miles. I know that thease transmissions are made by GM, so are these just bad transmissions or just some of the transmissions are defective. I have even heard that some people had transmission proplems with the 02 models as well. I have a 99 S80 2.9 now with 95K miles and I got power flushed it and change its filter at 93K miles. Are there any other servicing I can do to it to avoid troble down the line. Will flushing it every 25-30k miles make a difference.
Flushing might and might not help it.
Nothing else you can do to stop it from going out. If it is going to go it will no matter what.
There was a Rash of Bad tranny's that got out from GM. The Caddy's were the same way since it is the same trans.

You said that a rash of bad tranny's got out from GM, Does this mean that all the transmission are bad or just some of them turned out to be bad or defective. Because I have heard from some people on the forums that have a 99-00 S80 with 140K - 200K miles on there cars they had no transmision proplems.
