I changed mine I have a 99 S80 I didnt even have to remove the fuse box guess my hands were small enough. Wasa lil scared at first being my first Volvo i didnt want to damage anything but it went so quick less than 5 min swap. I have been a Mazda RX7 guy almost all my driving life but it was very simple & the rebuilt unit works great. Drove from Brooklyn NYC to Honnesdale PA the same day great way to test the unit. The only thing that sucks now is the Mechanic's that did my struts screwed up the install of the left side & Im hearing a squeaky noise like a dogs squeeky toy my Bro says they installed the monut on the driverside wrong can't won are there any real mechanic's in NYC, it's like screw up central..

 

Yours was so easy because on the 99 they have a different fuse panel than the rest of the years. The 99's can be unplugged without removing the fuse box.

 

Kool so then I should be happy lol less stress in the removal. Thanks Tech I actually felt like i did something major lol. But none the less still worked beautifully. Just wish I had real mechanic's in NYC atleast in Brooklyn & Queens

 

I hear you on the Mechanics. Alot of times when I was in the city the shops looked hokey!!
