Default RE: Automatic Transmission losing power

ORIGINAL: PorscheDrifter

When Volvo diagnosed my transmission they said that the slipping was due to one of the two limiter switches being bad, supposedly one governs low rpm and the other high. Maybe its one of those.
Mine fluid is full and red. This above reply sounds like something we seriously need to look into.

Tech: "limiter switches", can you give us more info on this please? Is it something we can change easily since it's just "switches"?

PorscheDrifter: If you see this msg, please let us know if you got it fixed and how much it was. Thanks.

He might be talking about the Soleniods mounted under the black cover/ or side cover.

We really never changed parts on the transmissions. (Volvo wouldn't allow us)

My car was at the dealer today to change the Mass Airflow Meter for surging problem (which was resolved). I'm not sure yet, but with more driving, I'll confirm if the M.A.M. sensor changed would had fixed my loosing power issue too.

I asked them to check the transmission. The rep reported back that the mechanic check the fluid and it looked okay. For now, I'm going to keep my eye on it.

Hmmmm... the mass airlow meter sensor replaced and ECM reset also fixed my "loosing power" issue. The onlylogically explaination here would be that the Air Fuel Mixture was running "lean" causing the lack of power to deliver to the transmission.

Yes they were solenoids, my bad. The cost to have the solenoids replaced was around 2500 euro, which was rediculous but in the states it shouln't be even a thousand dollars. Laybor was 85 Euro / hour for6 hours, plus they flushed the trans @ 32 euro /L for fluid, and then the diagnosis alone was 400 euro, plus 18% tax... I need to get the volvo program so i can do this crap my self... I am fed up with spending *** loads of money just in laybor and dealer fees, the parts were 175 euro ea.I am pretty sure I can handle working on this car since I have built up all my other cars and the US Govt. trusts me to work on 45+ million dollar Aircraft. FIND A LOCAL SPECIALIST!!!!

I'll keep that in mind. Maybe take it to amcoo or ammco for transmission repair. Heard of it on the radio.
