Default Brake pads

I am going to be doig the brake pads on my S80 soon. At FCP Groton, it seems that the Akebono pads are a little less money then the OEM Volvo pads. Is there a difference in the pads? WHo makes the Volvo pads?

Thanks

Go with the Akebonos. They brake well, are quiet, and produce a lot less dust than the OEM pads. The Volvo pads are made by Pagid.

anyone ever use any of the other brand of brakes.. eg. febi bilstein ( a brand i trust 100%) or
maybe jurrid or the PBR/axxiss pads?

I expect them all to be similar performance within a similar pricerange..

I used autozone Duralast premium pads, they are very smooth and power ful... little squeaks here and there but barely noticeable... plus they come with a lifetime warranty so if they wear down full replacement - same with rotors

I was actually doing some more research and I noticed that Hawk has pads for this car in their HPS series. I just bought HPS pads for my accord so depending how those feel, it could be nice to try on the volvo... supposedly provides much more stopping power than a standard or ceramic pad..
