Default Bulb Position Error

Ok so my car tells me that one of my lights is out, I checked the headlights, fog lights, tail lights, side lights, the courtesy lights, and all of them seem to work fine except the fact that the error light is still on??

they work all five of them, the two that stay on always, the two that come on when brake is applied and the rear middle top one on the back windshield works...even the rear fog light works..

Did you check the little lights in the headlight housing? The ones right beside the grill. I've had one of these go and they are very hard to see.

Position light means one of the taillights that is on whenever the lights are on. On the S80 I believe it's one of the lower outside bulbs in the taillight and it should tell you how to get to it to replace the bulb in your manual. However, I'm having this same exact problem right now even after I replaced the bulb and for some reason it's still giving me an error message and not lighting up.... I'm taking it to get an oil change soon so I might as well get both things covered at once.

thanks for the suggestions guys, but hot diggity it isnt one of those at all...... Could it be an Directional not lighting up? .... E_s80, when you bring your car in let me know..... I should also say that both my headlights let some condensation in..... Could that be the reason why. All Lights illuminate!!! lol... So why the error....errr....

I had the same problem and couldn't track it down until I turned on the REAR fog lights....yes...the REAR fog lights.

They are activated with the button beside the front fog lights. They light up your rear red lights with a separate bulb. I guess it is to make the back of the car brighter for people behind you if it is foggy out to reduce the chances of a rear ender.

Turn them on and see if they are working.

Regards.

tried that ... thanks for the suggestion......

As of now i am driving around with that annoying message on :/.. I guess I heard a rumor that for each tail light there are 4 for the redzone, and it looks like its working fine, when only 1 out of the four is not working.... We'll see, havent had the time to look into it lol

Ifit's the "bulb position light" message, it IS the lower outside tailight. I have the same problem and it comes and goes. It's a real nuisance, but I have learned to ignore it with a good degree of expertise.

My friend had also the problem for weeks n his BMW... He told me that his bmw lights problem error messsage has really been an annoying thing and giving him some headache trying to figure out what was the cause of the error message, until he got it to a mechanic and told him that he has some faulty wiring which causing him the problem and with some wiring adjustment it was fixed immediately...
