Default Can contact reel be lubricated?

Purchased a 2000 S80, 2.8L T6 auto which sat for about 2 years. There is a sound coming from the upper section of the steering column when the wheel is turned. Sounds like the contacts in the contact reel need lubricant. I have not taken the column apart yet.
Can someone please tell me if you can access the contacts in the contact reel to lubricate them?

Thank you

You can put a little bit of grease on the metal part of the wheel.
But make sure before pulling the steering wheel you lock the contact reel into place.
Also where the shaft goes through the floor spray the bearing good with a spray silicone.
Sometimes that will make noise and travel up the shaft and fool you.
