Default Proper way to reset the contact reel (clock spring)?

Have one on the way and need to install this weekend.
VADIS says turn “clockwise” then back off at least 2 turns then what ever it takes to install the locking screw.
All Data says turn “counter clockwise” then back off about 2 and ľ turns to install the screw.
Does anyone know which is right or if it matters which way it is done? Do not want to destroy new reel.
Any other issues I should be aware about when I replace this?

Thank you

Easy. Turn clockwise until it stops, turn counterclockwise while counting the turns. Now turn back clockwise 1/2 of the turns, or closest to get screw to line up.
