Can anyone give me a definitive answer about if the Daytime Running Lights (the low beam and the peanut light next to it) can be turned off by reprogramming the computer? I have one dealer that says yes ($65) another says No (nothing after 2007, $44).
I want to install LED DRL instead of having my low beams on all the time and restore the light switch to "normal" operation.

I think dealers answered to different questions.

For 2007- models there is no way to change DRL behaviour without software loading.
For 2008 S80 with upgraded CEM firmware there is possibility to switch on Dedicated DRL.
The problem is if dealers are allowed to do such changes.
