Im having a problem as usual with my Volvo S80 1999
Its struggleing to start and then when running has a strong odor of gas coming from what i believe to be the left or passengers side of the car.
I do not see a visable leak.
Also I was wondering about struts. All of mine need replacing but, dealership cost is unreal for this item. Any suggestions?

An injector o-rings migth be leaking.

Check around at local shops that work on Volvo's they might be a ton cheaper than the Dealer.

 

I think the most obvious for the gas odor would be a leaky injector if the smell is coming from under the hood.

Struts are pretty simple to replace yourself if you've got tools and a spring compressor.

 

Thats good to know. After posting my complaint I reviewed a few postings and found the same as what you state.
