Hi,

Has anybody charge the battery while it is installed in a circuit via cigarrate lighter for Volvo S80 2008, using battery charger/maintainer?

 

The cigarette lighter circuit is disconnected when the ignition is off. An easier way might be to make the charger connection under the hood and run the cord to the exterior of the car at a convenient place like under the bumper.

Thanks for your reply. If charging via cigarette lighter socket, will it still charges the battery without damaging other electronic devices?

 

You would have to leave the ignition on to charge the battery. The charger would be taxed into powering the whole system.
If the battery is severely discharged, the wiring is not beefy enough to handle the load.
Not a good idea.
