Did dealership mess up our car?
So we had our 2002 S80 in the shop at the end of July of this year for the 112,500 mile service. The inspected the fuel pump for the recall and repaired a leak in the transmission pan. We took the car in last week because the check engine light came on and now they told us that the tech forgot to put a screw back in and that the transmission was leaking again as well as an oil leak that is all over the timing belt now and that will need to be replaced as well. How can all of these problems happen when the car was just in the shop and could all of these occurred do to the tech leaving a bolt off? We just had the timing belt replace last year.

One more thing...since the bolt was missing could this have caused the oil leak which went all over the timing belt which them caused damage to the PCV system? The dealership told us they left a bolt off from the last repair and that the transmission was leaking again.

I think you've got multiple issues that are not related to the transmission pan.
The PCV leak is managed by periodic maintenance -- to replace... the PCV trap... I consider this normal maintenance.
If that had an issue and was undetected/ignored and it leaked onto the timing belt, then yes, replace the timing belt. You don't want to have a belt failure, do you?
