Default Engine Stabiliser Brace

Can anyone tell me whether or not the engine stabilser brace should have any play in it, and if so, how much?
I am wondering because mine has quite a bit of movement, and since my next job is to replace the 3 engine mounts, do I need to replace the brace or its bushings as well.
Thanks.

I replaced my bushings with ones I got from IPD a year ago. From what I can remember there is less than 1/2" of movement. What's that stats on your ride?

If you're referring to the top brace, yes, it will have play in it. You can buy a retro-fit kit that will firm it up though and will make it more rigid like a strut bar. You'll suffer a little in vibration, but it will firm up the front end (just depends on what you seek).

Thanks again guys.
2002 S80 T6. 117k. I've had it since it was a newborn, and I am not ready to let it go. This year, it got a new timing belt, water pump, power steering pump, battery, alternator, ignition coils and probably some other stuff I can't remember.
I am going to order the bushings and all the motor mounts from IPD today. Hopefully, a more stable engine will keep more things from falling apart.
Any more advice?
