HELLO I AM NEW TO THE FORUM, I HAVE A VOLVO S80 NON-TURBO AND IT HAS 144 K MILES. WELL HERE IS MY PROBLEM THE ERROR MESSAGE THAT READS IS "BRAKE FAILURE STOP ASAP", "TRANSMISSION SERVICE REQUIRED" ALSO ALL OF THE LIGHTS TURN ON THE DASH-BRAKE, ABS AND SOME OTHERS. THE VEHICLE DRIVES FINE BUT ALSO THE ODOMETER IS NOT READING AND THE RPMS THERE AT 0. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS JUST FINE, ABOUT THREE MONTHS AGO I HAD THE TRANSMISSION FLUID FLUSHED. I ALSO HAD A VOLVO TECH LOOK AT THE CODES BUT AT THE TIME HE WAS CHECKING THE VEHICLE ONLY SHOWED "TRANSMISSION SERVICE REQUIRED" WAS ON. HE RESET ALL OF THE CODES AND IT WAS FINE. THAT SAME DAY I DROVE IT TO WORK AND IT WAS FINE UNTIL I STARTED IT UP AT THE END OF MY SHIFT AND THE ALL OF THE SAME ERROR MESSAGES APPEARED AGAIN.
OK, I HAVE BEEN READING OTHER THREADS AND MY FINAL CONCLUSION IS TO REPLACE THE ABS MODULE WHICH I JUST FOUND ONE ON EBAY. BUT MY OTHER CONCERN WAS THE ODOMETER NOT READING, I ALSO FOUND ANOTHER THREAD THAT IT COULD BE MY ALTERNATOR, BUT THE BATTERY IS NOT DYING. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATED IF ANYBODY CAN HELP ME. THANKS

 

ABS module. That will stop the odometer as well.

 

yep. i just send in my abs module to the guy on ebay to fix & i'm driving the car without the module right now. no odometer, the RPM's work thought. send in your module, it's really easy to remove, takes about 15 mintues. tip, you only need to remove the filter box, don't have to take out the fuse box.
when i drive the car now i have the same error, brake immediatly or w/e it says but it stops fine. here's the link to who i send it:

the only thing i reccomend is faster shipping than the standart. it takes forever.
