Hello,
I have a 2003 S80. During my daily traffic today, I got a message: "reduced engine performance." And what do you know? My engine's performance was reduced. I was able to make it home in one piece and no accidents but I'm troubled as to what the problem here is.

I've read another post on this website and learned how to get the car's "DTCs" (if that makes sense, I dont know what what it's called). Also, I have done some research and am thinking my car has an ETM failure?

Here are my DTCs:
BCM DTC SET
SRS READY
TCM CHECKING
ECM DTC SET
AUM DTC SET
CEM DTC SET
DIM READY
DDM DTC SET
CCM CHECKING
PDM CHECKING
PSM DTC SET
REM CHECKING
SWM DTC SET
VEM DTC SET

after this, it read: engine system service required

any help would be really appreciated!

 

It could be an ETM, CEM or ECM, as they are all related. It can also be that once one of them goes, all of them start to go in a chain reaction type fashion. Either way... get it to a trustworthy shop and have them take a look. Most code readers that are available on the market cannot access volvo's propriatary diagnostic system and therefore don't provide all the info necessary to make a correct diagnosis.
