fresh air hose broken on tip of s80t6 - must i replace?

fresh air hose broken on tip of s80t6 - must i replace?
my s80t6 (2000) has a crack plus gap in the end of the fresh air hose (the prominent molded plastic pipe on either side of the double turbo exhaust). must i replace it? or, can i tape it or otherwise seal it? thanks!
