Front Axle Ping
There is a TSB about this ping. It states to pull the axle away from the hub and use 'metal adhesive' and then let sit for six hours for it to dry. I just replaced both axles and will hear this ping occasionally. Has anyone used this adhesive? Is this the right solution?
Yes it works! It is like a metal glue it holds it tight but is a major pain to remove the axle again later.
You might be able to use a medium loctite and get the same results and it not be as hard to remove it later.

I have used it on axles before.
Believe my that Volvo stuff locks the axles really good. IMO it locks it to much.
I have had to use a Brass punch and small sledge hammer to get some back out of the hub. I am always worried about damaging a wheel bearing hammering them out.
I do believe the loctite is almost like the sealer for the oil pan and cam cover. Once the air is removed from the area around it the loctite gets hard.(But I know it does work on axles)
