Default Front passenger side window glass broken

OK I neded to replace my window. Went to a salvage yard and bought the window ($40) took the panel off the replace the glass but found the the door is welded shut... WTF! Am I missing something here?

This is what VADIS says

Remove:
-the door panel. See Panel, front side door, replacing (-2003) or Panel front side door, replacing (2004-)
-the sound proofing and bracket. See Drip guard .
-the ball joint from the clip in the window mounting.
Insert a screwdriver. Pry until the clip and ball joint snap free.
Note! Drill out one of the rivets then move the drip guard to one side.


That doesnt mean **** to me. and the picture they give you is SO vague. AND volvo put in RIVETS on a replacable part! MORONS!

rivets are used on many areas of a car that eventually will need replacement, you drill out the rivets, replace the part and install new rivets, these are things that happen to be facts of life in auto repair, sorry that you are having a bad time with this, best regards, beefheart.

If you are only replacing the glass there is access holes to get to the clips on the wheels.

I have to replace the glass and the regulator

And no Ive NEVER owned a car with rivets on a serviceable part. Ive owned over 20 cars and never had that.. Although this is my first euopean car.
