Default Broken side rear window glass

Hi! I'm cross posting this since maybe somebody here has a thought (haven't gotten anything in the XC forum)

Somebody smashed the rear driver's side window on my 2000 XC (the small window on the back side) . Luckily somebody scared him off before he stole anything. Anybody have any idea how much this might cost and if there's a good alternative to getting an auto glass place to do it (got a quote from one for $500)

Wondering if I should try to find this piece of glass from a junk yard, or if there's aftermarket glass that might be cheaper.

Any thoughts on how I can handle this to save some $ would be greatly appreciated!

Are you referring to the last glass panel on the side of the car that looks into the trunk area of the wagon? I've never done one myself but have seen the insides and outs of these V70s for years now and you can likely get one at a U-pull-it junk yard. The keys are to have patience, find all the securing points, have a very sharp razor knife if you have to slice a gooey rubber seal, and have a few tools like putty knife, torx bits. If you find the glass at a junk yard, take time to grab some of the plastic clips that are hidden but hold all the interior plastic pieces in place. Take these off the junk vehicle with the glass in case you break some from your car.
