I left my headlight switch in the wrong position, so basically its some of the lights are on..... I was working and went outside and I heard a car alarm going off........

Turns out my alarm was going off to signal that my headlights are on ..... thats sick, I was walking outside and i heard it, so I walked over and thanks to my car telling me (it went off periodically), it saved my battery!

Im surprised at that little feature!

 

The Headlights will not stay on with the car turned off.

What position was the switch in?

 

if you leave it in the middle position, some lights will stay on, its a 3 position switch, and the middle one leaves the lights on when u park it...
just thought it was funny the alram would go off to let me know that lol....

 

But it is not supposed to go off for that.

You might have a siren starting to go bad.

 

if the alarm was on and your windows were down, the motion sensor will set the alarm off. it's happened to both my volvo & audi.
