Default gear stuck on park

I got a volvo s80 2005, today I went to my car so I can drive to work, and noticed that I couldnt move my shift stick from park to drive, its like my breaks arent unlocking the shift stick so i cant move it, anybody had this problem before?

Default s80

I have the same year car and the same thing happened to me. Don’t know if it will be the same issue for you but the button on the shift lever is plastic to metal and mine cracked and it wouldn’t lift the pin to shift out of park. I took the button out and inside behind it, I barely had to lift on the pin. I drove like that for a year and finally installed a new button. Other than that I believe you can pull the plate off and look further. Where the gear icons are below shifter.

When you press the brake pedal, do you hear/feel the shifter becoming unlocked?
