Red face Head lamp

I was replacing a low beam. when I attached the plastic housing to the bulb the plastic housing disentegrated. Does it need to be replaced or can the plugs be used w/out the casing.

You can use the plugs without the casing temporarily, but it would be best to get a new connector wired in. Be careful none of them touch each other.

Just had the exact same thing happen to my s80/2003.Low beam went out, bought a new one,was told(do not touch the light bulb)..oil from your fingers will decrease the life of the bulb and the connector totally crumbled to pieces.Cost me about $75 to change it at a repair shop...guess very cheap plastic connectors...Glad to hear it's common and not just me..good luck and take care...!!!
