Ok, so the months of me putting off replacing my heater core has come to an end......Today my occasional dribble on the carpet became a lake....Yes I did replace the o-rings over a year ago when I got the car..

My question is: Is the S80 core...S80 specific? I mean does a 2000 S60 or other model use the same one, between the different models and years....

I was going to start my search for a used one(because I'm to cheap to spend nearly $400 for one)....my car is a 99 and I wanted to try and get one from a 2003/4/5 model...

For now I have just bypassed the core altogether but within a few weeks it will be getting cold around here.

Any in site on this would be appreciated.

 

Check FCPgroton.com for compatiliby. Check the part numbers for the different years and match them up to see if they are the same.

 

Thanks, for anyone else that wants to know........just from a quick glance s60/s80/xc70 1999-2006 appear to be the same part number.....what this means is......if you want to buy newer/used...you can save a small fortune.

how did it turn out? did the later model really fit and what kind of issues did you encounter swapping it out? any clues or tricks or Heads up without taking half of the dash out?

 

I have yet to order the part.....although its only going to be like 65$ us shipped.

When I do replace it I will take pics and a step by step to help others..
